From all accounts the Philadelphia Flyers are set to be buyers at the trade deadline. The team currently sits in the second Wild Card spot with 71 points sitting one point ahead of the Carolina Hurricanes. While the Flyers are willing to buy, they might not be willing to pay up for the player that would help them the most. Philly has been linked to the Ottawa Senators and Jean-Gabriel Pageau. However according to Charlie O'Connor of The Athletic, he doesn't expect general manager Chuck Fletcher to get into a bidding war over Pageau who could be the perfect fit. O'Connor reports it's likely the Sens will land a first round pick for Pageau but Fletcher won't pay that high. What makes matters worse is that there's huge drop off in center quality after Pageau as next up would be Nate Thompson of the Montreal Canadiens or Derek Grant of the Anaheim Ducks. A Pageau deal would also require the Flyers to send a contract the other way as they only have $66k in salary cap space. Would you be willing to give up a first for Pageau?
