The Philadelphia Flyers tried to push it as far as they could against a Sidney Crosbyless Pittsburgh Penguins team. Unfortunately they couldn't get it done and dropped last night's game 3-2 in overtime. The extra point though does make a difference in what seems to be the toughest division in the NHL so far. Usually head coach Alain Vigneault isn't exactly too happy with his team's effort after a loss, however that wasn't the case last night. AV surprisingly had praise for the Flyers' effort in the loss. "I love the way we played," Vigneault said. "That first period, we got plenty of scoring chances. We came out of that trailing by one. We tied the second period. Found a way to win the third. Tied it up late in the third. I thought it was a great game. Both goaltenders made some big saves at the right time. Our power play got us a goal. We're not going to be perfect on the ice but we got some good looks offensively. Carter made some big saves when he had to. Both teams battled hard. They won it in overtime."Some don't agree with AV's assessment saying the team didn't show up to play and when they did it was too late.
What do you think of AV's comments?
