After a week of quarantine for the majority of the team if not all, some members of the Philadelphia Flyers were allowed on the ice today. About half the team was allowed to hit the ice with 12 players and 2 goalies suiting up. Provorov, Sanheim, Ghost, Hägg, Friedman, Hayes, Patrick, Farabee, Raffl, Bunnaman, Hart and Elliott hit the ice with coaches Mike Yeo and Ian Laperriere were on the ice while Alain Vigneault and Michel Therrien stayed off the ice. After practice, general manager Chuck Fletcher spoke to the media to give some updates. "We've been a weeklong mandated quarantine. Not every player has the same quarantine timetable. Another 8 should be allowed to return tomorrow. Our entire org has been in quarantine the last 7-8 days based on positive tests.
We went through contact tracing. Coming out of Washington, we had some positive cases. Yesterday, we had POC testing; returned 7 negative tests. We had additional conversations with medical and health officials and decided to wait until today.Over the last four days, we've had one player added to the list and one removed. You can't say you're out of the woods, but it seems to be trending in a positive direction."
Vigneault also spoke to the media and confirmed that Claude Giroux had tested positive along with Justin Braun and others. AV added that one of the players that have tested positive was the most vigilant about wearing a mask, hand washing and social distancing. Vigneault also added that all the players that are available for Thursday's game will practice tomorrow and some players will still be in protocol.
