Former 50 goal scorer Ilya Kovalchuk is currently a free agent looking for his next landing spot. The forward terminated his contract with the Los Angeles King and is now looking to sign a one year deal worth the league minimum with a likely playoff bound team. Sam Carchidi of the Philly Inquirer believes the Flyers should be that team. While Kovalchuk wouldn't replaced Oskar Lindblom's solid defensive play, he would without a doubt replace Lindblom's offense. The veteran winger could help the Flyers struggling power play as he's registered 43 points in 81 games over his time with the Kings recently which included 22 power play points. Of course there's always a downside, in this case it's the fact that Kovalchuk would take away minutes from a younger player and could disrupt a pretty tight locker room. Would you like to see general manager Chuck Fletcher roll the dice on Kovalchuk?
