The first revelations revealed that it would be conference seeding instead of division and the Philadelphia Flyers would have a first round bye in the playoffs. While the Flyers will keep their first round bye, they might be given the opportunity to jump from the #4 seed to the #1 seed in the conference. According to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston, the top four seeds in each conference will play a round robin against each other to determine seeding.
