The Flyers drafted Denver Barkey in the 3rd round of last year's draft and the young forward had an incredible year in the OHL just like many other past Flyers.
Barkey put up 102 points in 64 games this season with the London Knights making him the 5th Flyers draft pick in the last 30+ years to hit the 100 point mark in the CHL. Simon Gagne, Claude Giroux, Travis Konecny and Morgan Frost are the other 4 which hopefully means the Flyers have a future star on their hands.
. @NHLFlyers draft picks in last 30 years (since 94) who hit 100 pts in @CHLHockey in draft+1.
Gagne: 120 in 61 (1.97 p/gp) Giroux: 112 in 63 (1.78) Frost: 112 in 67 (1.67) Barkey: 102 in 64 (1.59) Konecny: 101 in 60 (1.68)
Barkey this year joining a pretty strong list. #Flyers
The 18 year-old still has 2 years left of Junior hockey eligibility but seeing as he clearly is in a class of his own in the OHL, it will be interesting to see if he can crack the Flyers roster next season.
