The Philadelphia Flyers and general manager Chuck Fletcher are looking to make moves to improve their team, however they might be walking away from one. The Flyers have been attached to the Ottawa Senators in a possible trade for pending UFA Jean-Gabriel Pageau. Pageau would be a more than ideal candidate to center the third line and is enjoying a great season with 24 goals in 58 games so far and is a +11 on a brutal Senators team. While they were making a push for the 27 year old, it seems that push might have come to an end. According to Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philly, the Flyers have likely walked away from the deal because the Senators aren't willing to retain salary. Hall adds that the price of a first or second round pick plus a prospect is simply too expensive for a rental. Would you have liked to see the Flyers make a run at Pageau?
