The Philadelphia Flyers currently sit tied for second place in the MassMutual East division and are riding a two game win streak. While the Flyers have the second most goals scored in the division, goal scoring was one of the major concerns heading into the season. That's exactly why Flyers' general manager Chuck Fletcher was looking for scoring help earlier this year and one of his targets was former Winnipeg Jets forward Patrik Laine. Laine was of course traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets but the Flyers were in on the deal a bit earlier. NHL insider Elliotte Friedman revealed what the Jets were looking for from the Flyers and it was pretty expensive. According to Friedman, the Jets wanted Ivan Provorov in a deal for Laine. A pretty high asking price that would have left the Flyers blueline pretty depleted considering Matt Niskanen retired. Would you have made this trade?
