The Philadelphia Flyers' season continues to fall apart and it's not really looking like it can be fixed. With the losses pilling up, chatter is starting to build that head coach Alain Vigneault could be on his way out despite some term left on his contract. A couple of interesting things have popped up over the last 24 hours. First, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has linked Rick Tocchet to the Flyers' coaching job as a possible immediate replacement. "Alain Vigneault has term left, I think teams are really not thrilled about eating money right now coming out of COVID, they're definitely not interested in that...I've wondered about a guy like Rick Tocchet, it's just me kind of speculating".
That came out last night. On Tuesday morning the Flyers announced that general manager Chuck Fletcher will be holding a press conference around noon. No other details were revealed. Could today be the end of AV behind the Flyers bench?More details to come.
