Aside from their play on the ice, Philadelphia Flyers head coach John Tortorella have made the Flyers must-see television in 2024 both on and off the ice. Tortorella has delivered some incredible press conferences, from calling out reporters to throwing up middle fingers, Tortorella definitely is one of a kind behind the microphone.
On Tuesday, despite it being an off day for the Flyers, John Tortorella met with the media at the Wells Fargo Center and delivered what some are calling the best press conference of the season thus far.
For the main reason, this was the most open and honest and insightful that Tortorella has been all year. He gave insights into everthing from the Cutter Gauthier trade, decisions he has made throughout the season, and how tight knit the 2024 group has become.
According to NHL Reporter Kevin Kurz, Tortorella's press conference was the best of the year.
"My job is, I'm going to push athletes. I try to stay away from...I have other things on my mind that I don't give you. I was in control the other night. What I said, I meant. And quite honestly when I watch the tape now I'm more concerned than just the second period. Because of, I'm so proud of the team getting here. I guess now the narrative out there is I've heard from other people (is): they're young. They're not supposed to be here. Bullshit. We're here. We're here."
Tortorella was possibly the most passionate and emotional we have seen all season that has featured some moments of tension, anger, and dissappointment at times from Tortorella.
