On Friday night, the Philadelphia Flyers suffered one of their more ugly losses of the season as they fell 5-2 to the Washington Capitals in a pivotal division matchup that saw the Flyers squander a two-goal lead. From allowing five unanswered goals to John Tortorella being animated on the bench, screaming at his players, Friday's loss was a tough one for the Flyers and their fans. Saturday was a different story however, as the Flyers showed they have the ability to overcome adversity.

Despite the weight of the Friday night loss feeling heavy for Flyers fans, the Flyers showed they have a short memory as they bounced back resoundingly on Saturday night, taking care of the Ottawa Senators 4-2, led by rookie Tyson Foerster's two goals.
After a huge bounce back win keeps the Flyers in third in the Metro and gives them two more points in a playoff race, John Tortorella was especially pleased with his teams ability to overcome adversity and turn in a win on Saturday night.
"They have been doing it all year. You don't have to direct this group too much. They've assessed themselves pretty well this year. I had full confidence going into the game that they were going to answer the proper way."

Not only have the Flyers been answering the call of Tortorella all season, but they have been doing it while dealing with adversity as well, especially the past few weeks. From the Carter Hart investigation to a slew of injuries, the Flyers have been put through the ringer.
The Flyers have amassed seven wins since the All-Star break, all while dealing with injuries to Travis Konecny, Jamie Drysdale, Rasmus Ristolainen, and Tyson Foerster. If the Flyers can keep the consistency and keep the injuries at a minimum, the Flyers will easily make their first playoff appearance since 2020.
