"We keep hearing that there's going to be some big roster changes during the offseason and general manager Chuck Fletcher is ready to make some moves. We've already seen fan favourite Wayne Simmonds traded at the deadline, who's next? There's been lots of chatter who it could be and now NHL insider Bob McKenzie reports it could be one of their young defenseman.
McKenzie confirms there's big changes coming to Philly as Fletcher reshapes his roster and adds that defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere could be the odd man out. Having Ivan Provorov, Travis Sanheim and Philippe Myers around makes Gostisbehere expendable according to McKenzie. After setting a career high in 2017-18 with 65 points which included 33 power play points, Gostisbehere's production took a big hit with his worst full season in the NHL as he only registered 37 points in 78 games during 2018-19. The 26 year old was dealing with some injuries this year but none bad enough to keep him sidelined. Is this a trade the Flyers will regret in the long run?
McKenzie on the Bobcast says the Philadelphia Flyers may not necessarily want to trade Shayne Gostisbehere, but he may be the odd man out if they want to reshape their roster, they have enough young d-men with Provorov, Sanheim and Myers.
