"With pretty much all noteworthy unrestricted free agents off the board, some teams are now looking overseas including the Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers signed former NHLer Chris Stewart to a PTO after he played last season in the UK and now they're looking at a KHL player. Reports came out that KHL forward Anton Burdasov is closing in on signing an NHL contract and the Flyers along with the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers are the top contenders to land the forward. The Flyers were reportedly one of the teams that spent the most time scouting the forward overseas last season. Burdasov is a big body who can hit as he stands at 6'2"" and weighs in at 234lbs. The right winger led the KHL in penalty minutes last year with 114 in 50 games played and registered 19 goals as well. Some reports indicate he'll only sign with an NHL team that can guarantee him top nine minutes and while the top six is pretty much spoken for in Philly, Burdasov could look good on Nolan Patrick's wing on the third line. The Flyers currently have $13million in cap space with Ivan Provorov and Travis Konecny left to sign.
Reports suggest the #Flyers, who don't have much cap space, Rangers and Panthers are pursuing winger Anton Burdasov, 28, a big power forward who had 19 goals and a league-high 114 penalty minutes in Russia's KHL last season.
