The Philadelphia Flyers and general manager Chuck Fletcher aren't expected to be big players during free agency, but that doesn't mean they can't go bargain hunting. Philly has plenty of question marks regarding their third and fourth line center roles heading into next season at the moment. Both Nate Thompson and Derek Grant will be UFA while there's no guarantee that Nolan Patrick will be ready to play. That leaves a big hole in the Flyers lineup and Fletcher might bring in an old friend to fill one of those roles. Mikko Koivu was recently told by the Minnesota Wild that he wouldn't be brought back and would be hitting free agency. The 37 year old would likely sign for cheap somewhere and that familiarity with Fletcher would help. According to Wild insider Michael Russo of The Athletic, the Flyers along with the Boston Bruins, Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, Florida Panthers and Pittsburgh Penguins are the teams with interest in Koivu.
