The Philadelphia Flyers and general manager Chuck Fletcher traded Wayne Simmonds on Monday to Nashville and apparently it took a lot of work. On Monday we heard that Simmonds blocked a trade to the Calgary Flames by using his no modified no trade clause, and according to Elliotte Friedman that wasn't the only team. While appearing on Vancouver's Sportsnet 650, Friedman revealed that Simmonds also blocked a trade to the Winnipeg Jets. Friedman added that the Winnipeg Jets thought the deal was done. "They were preparing it and Wayne Simmonds had to waive his no-trade to go to Winnipeg, and it never happened. And instead he ended up in Nashville, and he didn't have to waive his no-trade to go there." Nashville was apparently on his list of approved teams and that's why it took up until the final minute for the Flyers to move Simmonds.
