"The Philadelphia Flyers finally ended their losing streak last Thursday when they beat the Dallas Stars 2-1 at home, however it was back to losing on Saturday. The Flyers took to the road and lost to the rival New Jersey Devils 3-2 in Jersey. Philly wasn't able to put the puck in the net during the power play once again and head coach Scott Gordon has decided to switch things up drastically. Gordon has decided to blow the power play up and do something teams don't usually do in the NHL. The Flyers head coach has loaded the first power play unit with only fowards:Giroux-Simmonds-JVR-Couturier-Voracek.
Gordon had Gostisbehere and Provorov on the second unit. Gostisbehere-Provorov-Patrick-Konecny-Lindblom.
The Flyers currently sit with the second worst power play only converting 12.8% of their chances, not far ahead of the Montreal Canadiens who have the worst power play at 12.5%.What do you think of the new strategy?
By jersey color, it looks like #Flyers morning skate will be mostly power play work and it would appear they're going to have a five-forward unit: Giroux-Simmonds-JVR-Couturier-Voracek. Other unit looks like Gostisbehere-Provorov-Patrick-Konecny-Lindblom.
