The Philadelphia Flyers have a big offseason ahead. New general manager Chuck Fletcher is expected to make some significant changes and get right back into playoff contention after adding veteran head coach Alain Vigneault. Fletcher has already started dismantling part of the old core when he shipped Wayne Simmonds off during the NHL Trade Deadline. Who's next? There's been some chatter about Jakub Voracek getting shipped off and right behind him we've been consistently hearing the name of Shayne Gostisbehere. Gostisbehere has shown plenty of offensive promise during his short time in Philly however had career worst 37 points this past season. Eric Engels of Sportsnet suggests that the Montreal Canadiens will go after Gostisbehere during the offseason as he would boost their struggling power play and weak left side defense. What could the Flyers get in return? Engels writes that the Canadiens would dangle one of their highly touted prospects like Nick Suzuki, Ryan Poehling or Alex Romanov. Suzuki has been on an absolute tear with Flyers prospect Isaac Ratcliffe as they've led the Guelph Storm to the Memorial Cup appearance in Canada. Poehling dominated the World Juniors and was named player of the tournament and followed that up with a hat trick in his NHL debut. Romanov is a young Russian defenseman who's already started playing professionally in the KHL (the youngest player in the league last year) and was named one of the World Juniors top defenseman during the tournament. Would you take any of these prospects for Gostisbehere? It would likely take a roster player from the Canadiens as well.
