The Philadelphia Flyers have been looking for a bit of a new identity since general manager Chuck Fletcher took over the team. Fletcher moved out guys like Wayne Simmonds and Radko Gudas while bringing in Kevin Hayes, Justin Braun, Matt Niskanen and Chris Stewart. According to one story, Fletcher was also trying to bring in a former Flyers' son that would have fit well into the Flyers current top nine. Eklund of Hockeybuzz.com shares that the Flyers were close on a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs that would have landed them Kasperi Kapanen. Kasperi's dad, Sami, played five seasons with the Flyers from 2002-03 to 2007-08.Going the other way would have been defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere who's been mentioned in plenty of trade rumors over the last year. It's probably a good thing for Ghost that this trade never happened as the Leafs hired Dave Hakstol as an assistant coach during the summer. There's been plenty of chatter that Ghost and Hakstol didn't get along.Would have liked to see this trade happen?
