"The Philadelphia Flyers and general manager Chuck Fletcher have been busy over the last couple of days getting some contracts done. Fletcher signed free agent Derick Brassard while also handing out extensions to Travis Sanheim and a Sean Couturier. But what about the captain?Claude Giroux's 8 year deal comes to an end after the season and he'll be eligible to hit free agency. The 33 year old ranks second in franchise history behind Bobby Clarke for games played and registered 43 points in 54 games last season for the Flyers. He's worn the ""C"" in Philly since 2012-13 so could this be the end of the road for Giroux in Philly?""I've had good conversations with Claude and with Pat Brisson, his agent, and at this point our plan is to play the season out and we'll talk at the end of (it),"" Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher said Thursday. ""I think we're both comfortable with that,"" Fletcher added. ""Claude's our captain, he's a great player, and I anticipate that we'll find a way to continue that relationship going forward, but right now I think what we'll do is we'll just get through the season and we'll look at the situation and see where he's at, see where we're at, and we'll do what's best for everybody.""What do you think of Fletcher's comments?"
