Just a couple of weeks ago the Philadelphia Flyers placed forward Dale Weise on waivers. It wasn't a surprise to many as the forward has been pretty much ineffective during his time in Philly, however Weise never showed up to Lehigh Valley in the AHL. At the time general manager Chuck Fletcher told Weise to stay home until he was traded. Clearly there's not much interest in Weise so the plan has changed. It seems Weise will join the Phantoms once the AHL All-Star break is over. "He's been working out on his own. I spoke to him again yesterday, and once the American League All-Star break's over, he'll report to Lehigh, and he's obviously hungry to get playing, and to find a situation that's better for himself."
Sounds like Fletcher is now hoping some AHL action will boost his low trade value.
