One of the biggest storylines that has surrounded the Philadelphia Flyers for the last two seasons has been Shayne Gostisbehere's future with the team. It's no secret that he's been on the trade block for awhile now. However the combination of his injuries along with his disappointing play and cap hit have made him pretty much impossible to move. According to Charlie O'Connor of The Athletic, Gostisbehere could be on the move if Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher was willing to do one thing. Include a sweetener, however Fletcher just isn't willing to do it at the moment. "Buyers" don't want players like Gostisbehere — with three years left on his contract and coming off two consecutive down years — without serious sweeteners added to the mix. If the Flyers were willing to include a high draft pick or a coveted prospect, they'd probably find a taker. But understandably, Fletcher as of yet has been unwilling to do so. It's a dangerous game that Fletcher is playing because Carter Hart, Travis Sanheim, Scott Laughton, Michael Raffl and even possibly Philippe Myers will need new contracts next year. That $4.5million AAV that Gostisbehere carries would give Fletcher much more room to work with. Should Fletcher just try and move Ghost along with a pick as soon as possible before the season starts?
