Philadelphia Flyers head coach John Tortorella and captain Sean Couturier have been the center of conversation for the Flyers and their fans the last week as Tortorella benched the team captain the last two games against the Maple Leafs and the Hurricanes.

In a move that Tortorella put as holding players accountable and putting your best players on the ice to win, the decision to bench the longest tenured Flyer and the recently named team captain was not a popular one among Flyers fans, especially considering Tortorella himself was suspended for two games after an ejection against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Despite the controversy, things are seemingly coming back to normal as the Flyers announced Sean Couturier will return to the lineup for today's matchup against the Boston Bruins.

The Flyers desperately need Couturier and his leadership as they not only face the best team in the Eastern Conference this season, but the Flyers also are still fighting for a playoff spot with just over 10 games left in the season.

Will the Flyers fight their way back and make the playoffs or has the clock hit midnight for the 2024 Flyers?
