The Philadelphia need a boost, a spark, anything right now to get them going. Speculation grows that if the Flyers can't come out of their West Coast road trip with a couple of points, head coach Dave Hakstol could get the axe. However, general manager Ron Hextall has gone to bat many times for the head coach so Hextall might decide to wait a bit before handing his head coach a pink slip. Could the solution come through trade? The Toronto Maple Leafs continue to struggle to sign 22 year old restricted free agent William Nylander and the team looked lifeless without Auston Matthews on Monday night who's expected to miss at least four weeks of action with a shoulder injury. The Flyers have their own contract questions marks with Wayne Simmonds set to become UFA next summer, and many question marks surround the situation and if the Flyers are willing to re-sign Simmonds considering his injury history and his age. Simmonds is an Ontario native who does plenty of charity work back home, and this could be a perfect fit. Nylander has put up back to back 61 point seasons since playing full time in the NHL and can play center or wing. Would you be willing to trade Simmonds if it meant landing Nylander?
