Prior to the deadline, there was reports that the Flyers were trying to resign Sean Walker, however the two sides could not come to agreement and instead Walker was traded to Colorado. However, Per, Brandon J. Sommermann, John Tortorella stated that the Flyers would have interest in Sean Walker this offseason if he does hit free agency.

John Tortorella on 97.5 The Fanatic today confirmed the Flyers will be in on Sean Walker if he goes to free agency as I reported after Walker was traded. Mutual interest is there as Walker loved his time in Philadelphia. Flyers missing Walker bad over past few games #LetsGoFlyers
Now this isn't entirely shocking as the Flyers did have interest but could not come to an agreement. Per rumors, the Flyers final offer was 4 years and 4.5 million per year. Walker was in just his first year with the Flyers before being traded to the Avalanche. Walker, the other night, just had maybe his best game as an Avalanche as he scored twice to help the Avalanche win in overtime, proving how talented of a puck moving defenseman he is. Now, if the Flyers could receive a 1st-round pick for Walker then resign him in the off-season, that may be the best-case scenario for the Flyers as it was a long shot for the Flyers to win the Stanley Cup this year with or without Walker. However, with all the young prospects the Flyers have coming up, and if walker is on the team for the next few years, the playoffs chances for the Flyers may be way different.
