The Philadelphia Flyers season is now over and due to this, the team is having an end of season press conference. The Flyers general manager Danny Briere spoke with the media, and one of the topics he discussed was Ryan Johansen. Per Bill Meltzer , "Briere said of Ryan Johansen that the player doesn't believe he (medically) can play hockey again."

Briere said of Ryan Johansen that the player doesn't believe he (medically) can play hockey again.
Its appears that Ryan Johansen playing career is over and will not play another game in the NHL or AHL. The Flyers acquired Ryan Johansen in the Sean Walker trade so they could obtain a 1st round pick. Ryan Johansen played in 63 games for the Colorado Avalanche this year and score 13 goals and 10 assists. The injury caught most by surprise as Ryan Johansen played for the Avalanche right before he was traded to the Flyers.
With one year left on his contract, he could have been a contract buyout this offseason, however, a player must be healthy for their contract to be bought out. When he was traded to the Flyers, he was immediately reassigned to the Phantoms, and it appeared he would never play a game with the Flyers but now he may never play a game for the Phantoms or any other team. However, let's hope he can recover, for his time outside of hockey.
