The Philadelphia Flyers 2023-2024 season has officially ended with their 2-1 loss to the Washington Capitals. For the third consecutive season, the Flyers have the league worst power play.

The Philadelphia Flyers have finished with the worst power play for three straight seasons, a National Hockey League record.

2021-22: 12.6% Power Play Percentage
2022-23: 15.6%
2023-24: 12.3%
The Philadelphia Flyers are the 1st team to have the worst powerplay in three straight seasons and during the 2021-22 season, their power play percentage was 12.6%, during the 2022-23 season it was 15.6%, and this year it was 12.3%. With the Flyers power play being abysmal all year, you can make the case, the reason, the Flyers missed the playoffs was due to their powerplay. If the Flyers powerplay was average all year, there a good chance, the Flyers pick up the few points that they needed to make the playoffs. One thing is clear, the Flyers cannot go into next year without addressing their power play needs in some capacity or we will see the same frustration and struggles.
