On Monday night, Matt Rempe was given a five minute major and a game misconduct for a blow to New Jersey Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler head. Well, today he had a hearing with the NHL department of player safety and we now know that he will be suspended for four games.
"NY Rangers' Matt Rempe has been suspended for four games for elbowing New Jersey's Jonas Siegenthaler."
When you watch the hit, it was a clear elbow to the head and most will agree that a suspension was warranted, however many may disagree on how many games. However, its clear that the NHL department of safety want to continue to make sure hits like these are punished.
