The Philadelphia Flyers sent shockwaves through the NHL on Monday night as they dealt top prospect Cutter Gauthier to the Anaheim Ducks for defenseman Jamie Drysdale after Gauthier informed the Flyers he did not want to play for the organization anymore. In the midst of the Gauthier chaos, the Flyers landed a top defensive talent who could impact the Flyers' power play significantly.
Drysdale is a right-handed shot defenseman which is an extremely valuable asset to have and is something you don't find often in the NHL. It is like the equivalent to a left-handed pitcher in baseball who throws 99 miles per hour. Drysdale made an impact in Anaheim on the power play and can definitely be a key member of this Flyer squad.

The Flyers got great value in a short time for Drysdale who was the number six overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. Drysdale has only played one complete season and in 81 games, he has recorded 32 points on 28 assists and four goals.
Among those fired up to have Drysdale in orange and black is head coach John Tortorella.
"It's such a good age for us and that's what's so exciting. A 21-year-old righty. Skill, lateral movement, it's such a good deal for us. In the process we're at right now, it's perfect timing."
