As the Philadelphia Flyers and the rest of the NHL are officially one month away from the trade deadline, the rumors are starting to heat up. One of the centers of conversation has been the ability of some key Flyers defenseman. It has been known that guys like Sean Walker and Nick Seeler have been eyed by a few times, but recently a new Flyers defenseman has come into the conversation according to a key NHL insider.

According to Elliotte Friedman on the 32T podcast, Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen has been a name thrown around for a few contending teams. Not only is Ristolainen easy to move, but his contract wouldn't burden teams.
Among the teams interested are the Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs who both sit in playoff contention, with the Canucks being one of the top teams in the Western Conference.

With Jamie Drysdale's arrival and other guys like Egor Zamula, Travis Sanheim, and Cam York getting more opportunities and playing well, Ristolainen could be seeing his time in Philadelphia come to an end.
Despite building a strong relationship with head coach John Tortorella and having a solid start, the Flyers defenseman has been struggling as of late. Ristolainen only has four points on one goal and three assists this season, and has only scored one point the entire month of December.
If the Flyers see a good deal out there for Ristolainen, Danny Briere could be quick to take it.
