Every player in hockey whether it's major or the minor leagues can have a bad game at anytime. It's always an embarrassment and usually the player in question takes it to heart and tries to improve themselves so it never happens again.
According to hockey news hub, this happened today when Flyers elite prospect Matvei Michkov was benched in the third period.
According to the site, Michkov went-4 in his game which caused his coach to make the decision to send him to the press box. This will certainly resonate with him as he hates being benched but after a performance like this the coach was left with no choice.
It's been quite the season for Michkov since he was drafted by the Flyers in 2023, in the first round 7th overall. Over the past 38 games with HK Sochi, he has scored fourteen goals, with 19 assists for 33 points and 18 penalty minutes.
All players go through these games and even though this is a blip on the grand scheme of things and it will not affect his overall game in the future. He will certainly remember this today and will work on to be better tomorrow.
