Flyers management must be smiling from ear to ear knowing that their first-round pick in Oliver Bonk has been a great one from the start. The Flyers chose him in the 2023 entry draft, in the first round, 22nd overall.
Standing at six foot 2 and 176 lbs, the 19-year-old defenceman has been having one of his best seasons in his entire hockey career with the London Knights.
During last night's game against the Windsor Spitfires, Bonk had a terrific night as he scored two goals and past a milestone as he scored at least twenty goals this season.

In his past 43 games, he has scored 21 goals with 36 assists for 57 points along with 22 penalty minutes and is a + 16. Eliteprospects.com considers him a shutdown defenseman but it seems that he has the scoring touch that adds another element to his game and who will give the Flyers another weapon especially on their power play.
It remains to be seen on whether he will make the team next year and what the state of the Flyers will be after this season. But it's widely expected that he will make his attempt to be noticed and that Flyers management may put him on the roster.
