It seems with each passing day and week; Flyers top prospect Matvei Michkov continues to excel as he develops and grows into an elite hockey player.

Having been one of the most controversial draft picks in recent memory and several teams deciding not to take him due to political reasons around the world, the Flyers felt that he was the right fit as they selected him 7th overall in 2023.
According to Cam Robertson on X platform, Michkov has vaulted himself to the top as the most points as a D+1 in KHL history.
His season certainly has been an interesting one as he played for SKA Saint Petersburg where he was shipped off to Sochi HC where he has blossomed into a great offensive talent. He has played 40 games with Sochi , scoring 16 goals and 21 assists for 37 points and has 39 penalty minutes.
As all Flyers fans and management knows, Michkov had signed a contract with Russia it will remain with the KHL till 2025. In the meantime, this will allow him to develop further, play against other guys and get a feel for what it's like to be in the big leagues.
