The Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils had one of the most storied rivalry back late 90's into the early 2000's.

Both the Devil's and Flyers were built very similar loaded up with big strong players that would just break you down with their size and strength. They also both had guys to that could put the puck in the net also.
One of the best and most memorable series was the 2000 Stanley cup Eastern Conference Final. Both teams would go balls to the wall to winner moves on to play for the Stanley Cup.

Unfortunately for Flyers Fans Devils Patrik Elias would score his 2nd goal of the game with 2:32 Remaining in the 3rd period to give the Devils a 2-1 and the rest is history. The Devils would go on to win the Stanley Cup over the Dallas Stars.

That's wasn't the only dagger from that game mid way through the first period Eric Lindros would get destroyed by Devils defenceman Scott Stevens with a hit so hard Lindros never truly recovered after.

whether or not you think the hit was clean this could arguably been the turning point in game 7 costing the Flyers a chance to play for the Stanley Cup.
