One of the biggest issues with the Flyers this season was the powerplay. Ryan Ellis should've been the quarterback of the PP, but as you know, he was injured pretty much all year.
If GM Chuck Fletcher wants his team to be back in the playoffs, he will have to figure out how to improve his powerplay. And acquiring an offensive defenseman could solve in a big way the problem.
There have been rumblings that Oilers' defenseman Tyson Barrie could be on his way out of Edmonton, as he has still one year left on his deal.
In his own end, Barrie isn't the best, but he can clearly lead a powerplay. This season, he registered 41 points in 73 games.
