A reunion between Claude Giroux and Peter Laviolette is possible

On Sunday, Brandon Sommermann indicated that the Capitals were quietly keeping an eye on the Giroux situation. They could also push to acquire one of the other Flyers players available in Justin Braun or Martin Jones.

Let's go back to Claude Giroux. Peter Laviolette, who is now the head coach of the Washington Capitals, knows very well the Flyers captain, for obvious reasons. Laviolette could very well advise his GM to try to acquire Giroux.

With that being said, I still have difficulties to see Chuck Fletcher trade Giroux to the Capitals. It's a divisional rival and GM's around the league aren't so keen to deal within their division.
