Alexander Ovechkin Emotionally Opens Up About The Toughest Battle He Endured Last Week Throughout His 18-Year NHL Career

The Washington Capitals announced just one week ago that Alexander Ovechkin's father, Mikhail, sadly passed away at the age of 71. Due to the saddened information, Ovechkin took a temporary leave of absence from the Washington Capitals to return home throughout these tough times.

Ovechkin has officially returned to the Washington Capitals and took morning skate with his teammates. Following practice, Ovechkin took the media stand to speak with the Washington Capitals media members, and was asked about his past week of troubles. Ovechkin stated it has been ''the toughest situation i've been through all NHL career''.
Ovechkin also mentioned that his mother and brother are traveling to the US, from Russia, to support Ovechkin next month. Ovechkin spoke more on the recent troubling news, and stated the following:
