An insider reveals an important detail for the Flyers regarding this summer

Martin Jones is having a pretty good season despite playing behind a bad team. However, we can say with good confidence that he will not be back next season with the Flyers so the organization will have the duty to find a new backup.

According to Anthony Di Marco, from the Fourth Period, the Flyers have not made yet a decision on who will be Carter Hart's backup next campaign.


There's not a lot of good UFA backup goaltenders on the market, but that could be interesting is Scott Wedgewood. He has been excellent with the Coyotes this season. He got traded to Dallas at the deadline and he continues to put up some strong numbers, as he hasn't lost a game in regulation yet. He has a 2.74 GAA and a .917 save percentage with the Stars.


However, the Flyers seems to have some candidates for the backup position within the organization : Felix Sandstrom and Ivan Fedotov. The latter is killing it in the KHL, and will probably sign a contract with Philadelphia after the season.

It seems like it's his job to lose...
