Today we are taking a deep dive into the Philadelphia Flyers projected lineup and line combinations for this upcoming season brought to you by the Daily Faceoff, ran by NHL insider Frank Servalli.

Let's get right into it: the forwards..
Line 2: James Van Riemsdyk - Kevin Hayes - Cam Atkinson
Must read on FlyersInsider
Line 4: Nic Deslauriers - Patrick Brown- Zack MacEwen

These lines could be worse, but their are some notable questionable combinations within those lines...
James Van Riemsdyk and Kevin Hayes, on the same line? The two forwards are noticeably the slowest throughout the Flyers underwhelming forward group, both are over the height of 6-foot-3 and noticeably struggled in some defensive areas last season, Cam Atkinson is really going to have to back check for an extra skater, as ''JVR does not transition well defensively with his slow speed.
The Defense:
Pair 1: Ivan Provorov - Tony DeAngelo
Pair 3: Cam York - Justin Braun

This defensive core would surely look a lot better with the addition of Ryan Ellis, who has been a injured ghost since being traded to Philadelphia. The first d-pairing should sure be interesting to watch as Flyers fans are all aware of Provorov's attitude throughout the franchise within the last two years, and his defensive partner being Tony DeAngelo who is also reportedly a locker-room cancer, this can be a disaster waiting to happen and i personally do not expect them to last very long.
It is odd to think, if Ellis came back this season where would he slot in? The Flyers just signed Justin Braun, for some odd reason.. So it seems as if the Flyers developing star Cam York will be cut of his development and potentially sent back down to the Leigh Valley Phantoms.
The goaltenders:
Starter: Carter Hart
Backup: Felix Sandstorm
This should be quite interesting, Sandstorm has been around the Flyers organization as he's been developing in Swedish leagues for many many years, if his time now? Will he be Carter Hart's backbone for when Hart has a slaughtering of a off-night like last season?
