The city of Philadelphia has always held such a passionate fan base, there is no doubt about that. From awful seasons to the great ones, championships and being the worst team in the league- the fan base has always been there to cheer or criticize- but they were there.
The professional teams that make up this wonderful town are the Phillies, Eagles, 76ers and of course-the Philadelphia Flyers. All which the fanbase have seen go from "first to worst" and the other way around. When grading the teams currently, it no surprise to where the teams match up in popularity and overall success- currently and all time. The Flyers are just not making the cut.
This actually may be a bit of surprise to some that the Flyers are the bottom of the Philly barrel. The difference between them and the Philadelphia Philles is that their management brought in a player of elite caliber in RF Bryce Harper. It has been a long time since the Flyers won a Stanley cup (1973-1974 and 1974-1975) or even made it to the big dance (2010 VS, the Chicago Blackhawks). The lackluster product that been placed on the ice, the inability to get their former captain any kind of scoring help and more currently, the fact that management just does not seem to really care. It has taken a toll on the fan base, and they are just fed up.

Looks like another season of empty seats and high-ticket prices again, but hey, there are bigger TVs in the suites...
Let's go back in time, shall we? September 24, 2018. The one and only "Gritty" mascot was created, and fans fell in love everywhere. What people had seemed to forget was the Flyers lost their last 5 games that season and went on to a 37-37 record to finish the year. Gritty was just another scapegoat for another year of not placing any type of product on the ice. In my opinion.
The Flyers certainly work to do to rise up from "Worst to first"- only time will tell. It certainly won't be this season, slipping more and more behind the Eagles, 76ers, and Philles.
