The Arizona Coyotes have been roasted by the hockey world over it's recent decisions regarding their new Arena and the fact their East Coast Hockey League affiliate will seat nearly three times the amount of fans as the Coyotes will have this season.

However, Today the Coyotes actually appeared to make a smart move announcing former NHL'er forward Lee Stempniak has been promoted from within the Arizona Coyotes' front office from data analyst to Director of Player Development.

Coyotes GM Bill Armstrong would make a statement saying:
We are very pleased to name Lee as our new director of player development. Lee was a hard-working player who had a very good career. He understands what it takes to get to the NHL and we are confident that he will do an excellent job developing our players.

The 39 year old Stempniak joined the organization's front office just last season following a 13 season pro career. In total he managed 203 goals and 469 points in 911 career regular season games split between the St. Louis Blues, Toronto Maple Leafs, Coyotes, Calgary Flames, Pittsburgh Penguins, New York Rangers, Winnipeg Jets, New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes. If you're counting at home that's 10 NHL clubs, including two separate stints with the Bruins.
