As the 2023-24 season approaches, the Edmonton Oilers are shaping up with a strong roster.

However, they recognize the need for additional center depth. Kurt Leavins of The Edmonton Journal suggests Nolan Patrick and Colin White as possible candidates for professional tryouts (PTO) with the team.
Patrick, currently an unrestricted free agent, sat out the entire 2022-23 season due to injury. With previous potential as a top prospect, he could be a valuable addition if he proves his fitness during the upcoming season. A successful PTO might lead to a spot on Edmonton's roster as an extra forward.
On the other hand, White played 68 games for the Florida Panthers last season, contributing eight goals and seven assists. Though it was a relatively quiet year for the 2015 first-round pick, his previous success in the league makes him an intriguing depth option for the Oilers.
