Even the strongest hearts may break sometimes in the NHL, and the latest one to do so is tragically Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau. Whether it is the coaches' fault or not, the Canucks have had a terrible season and need change. Elliotte Friedman says a coaching change is taking place.
Rick Tocchet, a former NHL player and coach, will return to coaching, according to Friedman, and the Vancouver Canucks are anticipated to hire him.
Oddly enough, Rick Tocchet submitted his four weeks' notice to NHL TNT, a broadcasting panel where he currently works, only hours after those rumours that Tocchet was connected to the Canucks surfaced.
In response to a question regarding his job during the interview, Boudreau became rather emotional, as can be seen here. It is quite terrible that certain people in the NHL are treated this way, but as most people would say, business is business.
