Surprisingly, William Nylander has emerged as the Maple Leafs' top player this season, surpassing Auston Matthews in both goals and points. Nevertheless, Matthews has had success this season, tallying 25 goals and 53 points in 47 games.
Matthews will initially be replaced by John Tavares on the Leafs' top line as Aleksander Barkov of the Florida Panthers will take Matthews' spot in this year's All-Star Game.
