The Pittsburgh Penguins have underachieved this season after re-signing Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang, aswell as acquiring defenceman Jeff Petry from the Montreal Canadiens this past summer.

The Penguins are currently battling for a wildcard playoff position with the New York Islanders and today Penguins General Manager Ron Hextall decided to bring back a familiar face acquiring Nick Bonino in a crazy three way deal.

The San jose Sharks traded forward Nick Bonino and a 2024 5th round pick to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for the rights to defenceman Arvid Henrikson.

The Sharks ten traded defenceman Tony Snud to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a 2024 5th round pick, and a 2023 7th round pick.
The Canadiens would then trade Nick Bonino to the Penguins for Tommy Snud and the Habs retain 50% of Bonino's salary.
