The US national TV market stands as one of the NHL's crucial components in marketing the game's growth within the United States and being quite lucrative financially it's attracting a larger viewership, especially on days marked as holidays.
As most people are aware, the Philadelphia Flyers boast one of the NHL's largest fanbases, spanning across the entire width of the United States and even into Canada, considering their presence in the NHL since 1967. A tweet from NHL news outlet "Puck Report NHL" highlighted that the Flyers will have 12 games televised on US National TV this season.
Given the rebuilding phase that the Flyers are undergoing, the significant number of televised games they have secured is surprising. In contrast, the former NHL Stanley Cup champions, the Tampa Bay Lightning, received only 11 such games.
The Flyers are also tied with the Dallas Stars, the Islanders, and the Florida Panthers, each also having 12 games.
