Manager Allan Walsh is a controversial personality in the NHL due to the fact, he's outspoken the majority of the time and takes justified shots at Gary Bettman, and rarely misses.

Again in another post, he chastised Gary Bettman for how the NHL has handled head injuries and CTE.
What Walsh says isn't incorrect, as the the study has been peer-reviewed and goes into detail how enforcers and CTE are a deadly combination, as 11 of 21 players died by causes of CTE.

This matched cohort study of 6039 NHL players from 1967 to 2022 confirmed that NHL enforcers died at similar rates but approximately 10 years earlier when compared with NHL controls. Furthermore, the causes of death in the 21 enforcers included neurodegenerative disorders, drug overdose, suicide, and motor vehicle crashes, whereas only 1 of the 24 age-matched controls died of any of these causes (motor vehicle crash).

The fact that Bettman continues to deny the findings, while the NFL has instead decided to embrace concussion findings of this nature, is an example of regressive leadership in the NHL.
It is only a matter of time before a huge lawsuit hits the league and Bettman and the owners are liable.
