If you are not aware, Borje Salming unfortunately passed away recently after a long and difficult battle with ALS.
Shortly before his passing, Salming attended the Hall of Fame festivities in Toronto and was even honored at the Leafs' game.
The trip to Toronto was a little controversial because of Salming's declining health. His health was declining so rapidly that they did not know if it would be in his best interest to go to Toronto.

Well, according to Hockey Beast, it seems that Salming was going to go regardless, as they shared that Salming's brother, Stig, announced that going to Toronto was seemingly Salming's final wish.
He wanted the chance to say goodbye to Toronto and the NHL community, and he was able to do just that.
He had a long and storied career, but his life outside of hockey was of more significance as he was a true family man.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Salming's family and friends as they continue to mourn the loss of a legend.
