Breaking News: Avalanche Hockey Insider Reveals Nathan MacKinnon Wants To Become

MacKinnon was one of the main reasons the Colorado Avalanche won their first Stanley cup since 2001 last season over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

MacKinnon's also heading into the final year of his budget salary of just $6,300,000 million dollars and will be a pending unrestricted free agent next summer.

Meaning if the Colorado Avalanche want to keep their star they are going to have to open those cheque books. According to Adrian Dater of Colorado Hockey Now, Dater revealed MacKinnon is looking to become the highest paid player in the NHL.

MacKinnon feels he has given the Colorado Avalanche General Manager Joe Sakic a home town discount to remain in Colorado, and for the Avalanche to have more money to build a Stanley Cup team.

Now that MacKinnon has realized his dream he wants to get his big payday.

The current king that makes the most money in the NHL is Edmonton Oilers Captain, and who Many believe is the best player in the world Connor Mcdavid, who makes $12,500,000 million dollars annually.

So the question now is Nathan MacKinnon worth more then Connor Mcdavid? I guess will find out next summer.
