Phil Kessel has been sitting all off season hoping but uncertain where he'd end up. Especially as he's has his eyes set on passing Keith Yandle's Ironman streak for most consecutive game played that dream is still a reality.
As The Las Vegas Golden knights announce they have signed Kessel to a one-year deal for the 2022-23 season worth $1,500,000 million dollars.
Many people believed that Kessel would likely be heading to Alberta either to Edmonton, or Calgary, but the Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon swooped in and made the deal.
McCrimmon knows that Kessel could step into The Golden knights lineup and help contribute to a team that's very close to the salary cap limit and ad more leadership winning back to back Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Playing for a losing team can turn a star into a forgotten man. But a lack of celebrity doesn't always equate into a lack of ability. Phil Kessel might have found himself on a milk carton during his time in Arizona but mostly because of an organizational choice to tank for picks.
That's not Vegas they want to get back to the playoffs this season and Kessel could definitely help contribute to that goal. Kessel had 8 goals, and 44 assists in a last season with the 31st place Coyotes
