General Manager Danny Briere has been quite busy over the past few weeks as he settles into his new role as full-time general manager. During this time, he began his process of tearing down his team by trading longtime Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov to the Columbus Blue Jackets. The return on that trade was significant and has put the Flyers in a good position for the future.

A few days later, there was talk of a potential mega-deal between the St. Louis Blues and the Flyers involving Travis Sanheim and Kevin Hayes. Unfortunately, the trade did not materialize, and the Flyers had to settle for trading Kevin Hayes for a sixth-round pick.
There was a lot of interest from other general managers in Sanheim, and before July 1st, he could have traded. However, with the implementation of his no-trade clause, any potential trade now requires his permission.

GM Briere has made it clear that he respects the no-trade clause and Sanheim will remain with the Flyers for the time being. Briere explained that although there was interest, he will honour Sanheim's wishes and keep him on the team.
During last year's season, Sanheim played 81 games, scoring seven goals and providing 16 assists for a total of 23 points. He accumulated 40 penalty minutes and had a plus/minus rating of -5. According to Cap Friendly, Sanheim has a cap hit of $6.25 million, which will expire in the 2030-2031 season.
Currently, the Flyers have $12.8 million in cap space, taking into account LTIR candidates.
